In a movie or tv show is there a missed oppertunity for quicksand that you would have liked to have seen?
If so what movie or tv show and which actress/actresses?

That is a loaded question, and way too many have been there.
How unfortunate you didn't have a proper guide to navigate these swamps.

And wayyyyyyy too many of them didn't miss quicksand at all...what happens is, the Hollywood director, who doesn't know we exist, sinks the male character and the collective cry goes to the skies:
"Why wasn't it the GIRL?"
Heard enough of it to last me a million years!

I guess the most classic is "Gilligan's Island" - where Ginger and/or Maryann should have each had a good slow quicksand scene. What a waste! The mudbath scene was a poor substitute. "Sheena" should have had a scene where Tanya Roberts was sinking, but that would have been against the strong heroine theme of the show. As for movies, hands down in my book was the original "Swamp Thing" with Adrienne Barbeau - to have wasted that buxom body on no quicksand scene (actually deleted from the movie, as I understand) was the waste of a lifetime. Another movie was the "Tarzan the Ape Man" movie with Bo Derek - there was a snake, muddy-water scene, but again, what a waste of of beautiful actress in a quicksand environment (she couldn't act anyway, so at least let her sink!).
Like, the others said, there are too many missed opportunities to mention.

Come on! The ultimate missed opportunity had to be "Swamp Thing." Not seeing Adrienne Barbeau in quicksand after sitting all the way through that turkey was a major rip-off.

Talk about your missed oppurtunies!
There was a B movie, forgot the name, but it had actress Cameron Diaz and others on a desert island. One of the person supossively in charged says, "we cannot be responsible for you! If you should fall into a quicksand pit or something, we can't save you!"
And you get a beautiful female in cohost with some evil person that gets double crossed. She ends up in a spider's web! She could have just as well ended up in quicksand, even after it was mentioned in the movie! When will Hollywood learn??!!

Re: missed oppertunity...
Ok my twopence worth, even though this is a topic that has been revisited before.
A couple of movies that spring to mind, that coulda, shoulda have had sinking scenes in them.
First off Tarzan the Apeman... the 1981 version with Bo Derek as Jane. A fave movie for several reasons including her being in the altogether a lot, (at one point she is captured by creepy natives and stripped and prepared by naked women natives for a fate worse than death (Also FYI this is where my avatar comes from for those who didn't know)
For me this movie would have been complete had poor innocent Jane struggled futiley in quicksand or a jungle mudpit. (There is a scene where she is coiled up by a constricting snake and falls into a murky pool and wrestles with the serpent and done in slow-mo) This would have been better had it been a bog she had fallen into, while being wrapped up by the python, It would then have been a sort of double peril which I know some here would have had divine pleasure in watching such a scene also.
My 2nd choice is the 80's movie Firewalker with beautiful Melody Anderson, looking yummy in her tight shorts and hiking boots. A missed scene where the VW Beetle they (they being Melody Anderson and Chuck Norris) are driving in, runs into a jungle pool covered in lilypads and starts to submerge. Would have been much better had it been a quaking bog/quicksand that engulfs the vehicle leaving her trapped after abandoning ship. (Sort of recreating the Guns of Darkness scene)
I'm sure, like everyone else, other scenes will spring to mind later, but these two I feel would have made great movie mucky moments

The movie that comes to my mind in the 1985 version of "King Solomon's Mines." There was a scene where the bad guys, led by Herbert Lom, wound up in quicksand and sank, but I don't recall beautiful Sharon Stone in her shorts and boots going into the muck. It's been at least 15 years since I saw the film, but you'd think that would be something I'd remember.

Yes I remember this one well (I also was thinking of mentioning this in my post submited, earlier, but as I was going to be late for an appointment I decided to curtail my message at the 2 mentions). I also thought it was sad that Sharon Stone didn't end up in the quicksand swamp and the usual Hollywood directive not getting the damsel in too much distressing situations in one movie and a way of getting rid of too many bad guys in one movie....Oh well
One thing about this movie that made me chuckle was when the Germans led by the the aptly name Colonel Bogner entered the quicksand marsh and started to to get into difficulty, the soldier carrying the gramophone which started playing "Ride of the Valkyries (a cheap shot at Apocalypse Now perhaps?) was being sucked under in the the peaty muck, the character played by John Rhys Davies remarks "Good, no more Wagner!" and then intentionally shoots the other mired soldiers and uses their corpses as stepping stones to get across the bog.
Another more recent movie of course missing quicksand was King Kong, though I'm sure Ann Darrow would have been quickly scooped out of the mire by her Gorilla Beau. Perhaps the best time for that to happen was when she was at the bottom the slightly marshy chasm with the 2 T Rexes after her and Kong fights them off. It would have been more exciting had she had been sinking in mud/quicksand all the while Kong was preoccupied with the vicious dinosaurs and perhaps even having the girl going under and after winning his fight Kong sees the bubbles on the surface and reaches in to retrieve the unconcious girl from the deadly ooze. Wow after reading my thoughts, I'm now thinking..... I should have been in movies!!! LOL

Missed opportunities let's see... Romancing the Stone though it had a muddy part. Any point in the show Lost. Spiderman III with the sandman as a villian. Any point in the myriad Star trek incarnations commander Riker doesn't count we're talking ladies here.
