Found mention of a movie Legend of the Bog from 2009. It is an Irish horror film about a bog creature and a warrior trying to wipe it out in modern times.
Apparently, based on the plot description, one of the female characters falls into the bog and sinks, nearly drowning in the process before being rescued. Later, the creature itself is set on fire and ends up in the bog too. Wonder if anyone has seen it....
I attached the poster for reference.

I just wasted my time and blew through it. Wow...that is one bad, bad, movie. I didn't know bogs looked like single rectangular holes of brown water in the Irish woods. Worse than that the only time you see anyone in it is when the body floats to the top. There were two witless cuties, one intelligent babe, and one less than repulsive bitch in a movie about a bog and ...phttttppp...nuthin'.

Good thing I didn't waste my time... Thanks, guys, for taking one for the team.
You know... there's nothing wrong with the idea, though... you just need a better bog. And actresses. And writers... Just a thought...

Is it bad as in really bad or bad as in funny bad? I have a taste for horrible movies.

I judged it as bad without any merit whatsoever. I'm very fond of "so bad its good" movies but this was just bad. Not in an Ed Wood way but in an Alan Smithee-direct-to-video-with-no-budget-to-make-a-quick-nickel-on-a-name-bad.
Truly and sincerely just plain bad.
