Quicksand Fans

Its been pretty widely agreed that new horror-movie themes tend to come from current fears or issues. The following news story ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/spe ... osquitoes/ ) is off-topic, by itself, but it does suggest several ideas for new horror movies much like those of the 1950's, and, since any such movies would almost HAVE to take place in a wetland they ought to have a few bog encounters. Themes that are pretty much directly suggested would be huge swarms of voratious skeeters, smaller number of MUCH larger skeeters, stampedes of crazed animals trying to escape the skeeters, and mind-bending diseases or symptoms from the bites.

I also hear a prequel to King Kong is coming out in 2017... Kong: Skull Island. Considering how swampy it was in Peter Jackson's film, maybe we could get lucky for a qs/bog scene... maybe.

Something coming soon that's kind of along those lines--Green Inferno. Plane full of college kids on a mission to 'save the rainforest' crashes in the jungle. Hilarity ensues when the cannibals show up.

That starts tomorrow, 9/25. I'll be in line for a matinee. Qs or no, cannibals are fun. Lots of cuties in it too, from what the trailer shows.
