I remember when I was 6 or 7 and asked loads of questions about quicksand. Back then I used to think if you put your toe in it you'd never get out! I remember going for walks around the nearby reservoir with my father and grandfather asking about the stuff.
I have another, similar, fetish too. I know what the connects the 2. I'm not really interested in the quicksand as it were but being trapped/no escape (even though there always is).

This was something I wasn't sure about. I've literally just found these sites after doing some research following a recent "encounter" with quicksand, and it hadn't occurred to me there is a quicksand/sinking fetish...

I was always fascinated by it in films and video games, but having only found myself sinking once or twice, I'm not that sure whether or not it is for me.
Did everyone here have a stage like this that they went through?

Can I just add my surprise at finding a "community" of quicksand-oriented people, fetish or not, its pretty cool that so many people with the same interests have formed a site such as this!

I've had a fascination with it since I was... ten years old? Younger? But I never found any to do a really deep sink, do it privately, and come home without betraying what I did, so, I've never sunk.

I don't know just when it was I discovered I liked watching women sink into quicksand, but i suspect it's part of my liking of damsels in distress. I've been a DID fan since I was a teenager. It wasn't until I discovered the Internet that I realized I wasn't alone, and I wasn't that weird.

When I discovered Kaol's site and Down Under in the Jungle, I realized I wasn't the only one who liked quicksand scenes. Who knows how many old jungle movies were made by people with the quicksand fetish who were afraid to admit it? I'll bet it's more than we might have thought.

As far as I can tell, a fetish is what it is. Either you have it or you don't. One person's fetish might gross out someone else. You can never explain a fetish to someone who doesn't have it.

So, with that said, enjoy your fetishes. Just remember not to harm yourself or someone else.

Yes I had a fetish with mud when I was 7 when I saw a Women up to her neck in a tub full of spa type mud like a Mud bath on some TV show that aired back then.

I don't try to analyse this, it's the way I am. For students of psychological development... Well, it's always been there; manifesting before puberty in extreme discomfort and nervousness when sitting in front of the television (to the point of bolting outta the room- More than once- If discovered watching something like Tarzan's Hidden Jungle or Ice Cold In Alex). Once one's voice broke, it became, "yee-haw! That sure is hot, but I might be weird," until a fateful day in early 1997, when thanks to Kaol, I (a) discovered I was not alone, (b) produced a bat-pitched shriek of terror and have kept my computer on mute ever since  . I recovered from that, as did the office, but sadly not the local bats.
But since then, it's all been good, as the existence of this forum demonstrates.
OK: this is the way you are; it doesn't harm anyone, so have fun with it. You're only coming this way once; Enjoy 8-)

I SO wish I had written down who said this, but here's what I live by:

"As a young man, I worried what others thought of me.
Once I got older, I decided I didn't care what others thought of me.
Now that I'm old, I've discovered others weren't thinking of me to begin with!"

I just do. I love seeing women in quicksand because I'm a sick evil human being!

The truth is, I always wonder why I love seeing women in quicksand so much, and yes, Damsels-In-Distress situations including tied-up women. Generally, this tends to condense around certain characters and/or actresses over time rather than just a random chick out of nowhere, at least as of this writing. Yet at the same time, I'm also fully aware that women are just as equal as men and deserve the same level of human rights as men, even if there are differences (even outside of reproductive systems) including hormone-related differences (Testosterone versus Estrogen). I always wonder, with a bizarre fascination why I feel troubled by the knowledge of how perilously close women have come again and again to losing much of their hard-earned rights, yet at the same time am such a die-hard QS/DID/Soft-Vore fanatic.Let's just say this probably eliminates any chance of me running for political office!

I haven't really drawn much, in the way of QS artwork, or even any DID work primarily because of using Google Sketchup or putting my creative endeavors into other things but generally, when it comes to quicksand, I have my favorites I'd love to see in quicksand.

As for the women I'd love to see tied up, here is my current list from fifth to first place. This has nothing to do with liking nor disliking. It's like a third-rail to me.

#5. Eva Longoria (A very nice artwork of her is on deviantart!)
#4. Emmanuelle Vaugier (God would this be a real treat!)
#3. Marg Helgenberger (Oh yeah!)
#2. Marcia Cross
#1. Melina Kanakaredes (God dammit! It pissed me off what they did to Stella in "All Access" of CSI:NY a few years back!)

As for who I'd love to see in QS, the ranking is as follows:

#5. Donna Pinciotti (From that 70s show. I've done a few attempts but not in a LONG time)
#4. Marcia Cross (Many of my Molly Bannon qs works are based on her)
#3. Catherine Willows (Especially in a tight red shirt)
#2. Emmanuelle Vaugier
#1. Stella Bonasera (From CSI:NY; Since the writers are simply moving her out of NYC and not having her die, I'm celebrating by tossing her into a swamp! )

I just don't know why I get turned on by these things. Hell, I even have ocassionally creeped out a few family members when they've stumbled upon it. Yet as much as a few ladies may have been ocassionally worried about me, even suggesting therapy, I bet, a sizable percentage of women probably fantasize men being in QS, at least as a counterweight.

When I see a beautiful woman, whether it be an actress or fictional character, I just can't help but imagine seeing them stuck or tied up. It's like the beautiful smell of perfume (Respect as equals, supporting rights, address discrimination) but when it catches fire (quicksand/Damsel-In-Distress fanaticism), LOOK OUT!
